If a woman doesn’t look like a goddess during labor, then someone isn’t treating her right.” - Ina May Gaskin

What is a doula?

A doula is essentially a labor coach.  Someone who is there to hold space for you and your partner (if applicable) while you labor and birth.  We provide emotional and physical support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.  We also aide in informational support; helping you digest and process options and information.

We advocate, support, and do our best to keep you and your partner as comfortable as possible.

We preform no clinical tasks such as fetal monitoring or cervical exams.

Research continually shows that having a birth doula present can reduce the risk of medical interventions as well as provide a higher rate of satisfaction with their birth experience.
